Glensound GS-MM83 Audio Monitor With 8 Mono & 3 Stereo Input
Description
General:
The Glensound GS-MM83 is an 8 mono and 3 stereo input audio monitor 1u subrack (sometimes referred to as a pre hear unit). The GS-MM83 allows production personnel to control and listen to various programme and communication sources.
Front Panel:
From left to right, the first eight potentiometers are mono sources, which have indicators for signal presence and left/right/both signal routing switches. The last three potentiometers are stereo sources, which also have indicators for signal presence, left/right/both signal routing switches, as well as a left only, both, right only, signal routing switches from the individual stereo inputs.
There is a front panel Loudspeaker that is driven via a DSP, volume control, cut switch, dim switch and a control for the dim level, when either the front or external dim switches are activated.
Both 6.35mm and 3.5mm headphones are fitted with a potentiometers to control both outputs the insertion of headphones will cut the front panel loudspeaker.
Rear Panel:
All rear panel balanced inputs are mounted on 3 pin Xlr's except input 9 which is a 3.5 mm stereo jack socket.
Outputs on the rear panel include a pair of stereo 3 pin Xlr's for a set of un-powered monitor loudspeakers, a pair of terminals for powering an external loudspeaker. A switch on the rear panel selects the front or rear loudspeakers and a second switch selects the preset equalisation mode that that the user requires for their loudspeakers.
Potentiometers provide control of the three separate loudspeaker outputs on the GS-MM83.
A 9 pin D type connector enables remote control of the cut and dim functions on the GS-MM83 monitor panel the wiring is listed below:
Pins 6,2 = External cut loop
Pins 3,8 = External dim loop
Pins 1 = Chassis
DSP:
At the heart of the GS-MM83 is a DSP, which is used to control the signal paths to the loudspeaker outputs and the logic functions (cut and dim). The filters in the DSP have been optimised to provide the very best performance for voice or music situations, as well as a third position for a flat eq response if required. The eq functionality is implemented by using the rear panel switch and rear panel indicators.
PSU:
The GS-MM83 uses a high quality switch mode supply and requires an external supply of 100 -240v AC and 50/60Hz.
Features:
- Audio monitor mixer
- Eight mono inputs
- Three stereo inputs
- All inputs with adjustable mix levels
