Description

Crane Song's Interstellar A/D converter and master clock provides quintessential Quantum conversion with a faithful analog glow. With robust features like exclusive sub-picosecond jittering, analog dithering process, eight word clock outputs, and the ability to switch between interface and standalone modes, the 2-channel Interstellar provides stunning 32-bit/192kHz DA/AD conversion. Full control over sample rates and tape emulation are supplied through the front panel and Crane Song's USB drivers, a cinch for switching between USB and standalone use. By instantiating Interstellar's unique analog dithering process, 16-bit/24-bit dither filters low-sensitive spectrums during conversion to supply zero-noise crystal clear output. And with unique DSP adjustment controls, triode, pentode, and tape emulation, pros have found Interstellar bottles a galaxy of sonic options.

Features:

• 8 BNC connectors capable of syncing to other equipment
• 32-bit/192kHz pro-quality AD/DA conversion
• USB I/O
• DSP triode, pentode, and tape emulation mimics HEDD Quantum controls
• Quantum AD conversion technology delivers stunning clarity and distortion
• SPDIF, USB, AES output compatible
• Crane Song filtered 16- or 24-bit dithering provides precision conversion, tied to low-sensitivity spectrum
• Bi-directional USB on/off interface provides standalone ADC usage or computer-controlled sample rate
• DSP harmonic distortion
• 8-word clock outputs

Function, sample rate, and tape emulation controls:

Function controls on the front panel change the unit's use of DSP, USB, and dithering modes. Sample clock rates are adjustable from 44.1kHz to 192kHz when not being controlled by a DAW. Sample rate adjustment via the front panel recalibrates the converter, keeping functions accurate. Triode, pentode, and tape modes alter triode tube harmonic, third harmonic, and magnetic tape emulation information, respectively.

Use as a USB interface or standalone ADC unit:

The Interstellar's function switch allows you to toggle between five modes, including a USB off and a DSP on mode, and a USB on and a DSP off mode. Without a bus connected, the Interstellar will remain as a standalone ADC, controlling sample rates straight from the unit's master clock and 8 wordclocks. An audio control panel interface is supplied when connected via USB, running sampling rates adjusted by the Interstellar's drivers.

Stunning analog clarity:

The Interstellar A/D converter and master clock features Crane Song's analog dithering process, adding dither to audio sources rather than running through a digital operation. By filtering to a less-sensitive spectrum, noise feedback and hazy output are no longer problems. Switching to 24-bit mode disables the dither altogether, allowing complete control for any conversion.
